Thirteen papers on the environment of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, edited by Quamrul Islam Chowdhury and published in 2001 by the Forum of Environmental Journalists of Bangladesh with the Ministry of Environment and Forest and UNDP. Contributors include Devasish Roy and Sadeka Halim on valuing village commons in forestry, Dr Mahfuzul Haque on the physical environment and on the economic, social and cultural rights of the indigenous peoples, Dr Reza Khan on the white-winged duck and its habitat, and further chapters on CHT-NEMAP, jhum cultivation, landslides and the condition of Rangamati town.
